Ako Good Practice Publication Grants Open

Information about how to apply to the Ako Aotearoa Good Practice Publications Grants scheme in 2012.

About the grants

The Good Practice Publication Grants (GPPG) scheme is a key mechanism through which good tertiary teaching and learning practice can be celebrated and promoted across the sector. Through the scheme, interesting and creative teaching and learning practice that has been shown to benefit learners is shared with educators so they might incorporate it into their practice.

The practices are shared either through a written summary or a multi-media presentation and are published on our website in the Ako Aotearoa Good Practice Publications e-Book.

Up to $5,000 is available to support the development of publications about individual practices that benefit learners, and undertaken by a practitioner or project team.

Priorities for 2012

During 2012 there are two specific priority areas in which applications will be accepted:

  • good practice that has been shown to benefit Māori learners, their whānau, hapu, iwi and communities
  • good practice that has been shown to benefit Pacific Learners and their communities.

The grants will support the development of one of the following:

  • a paper in either English or Te Reo Māori up to 2000 words long, preferably accompanied by photographs – grant of up to $3,000
  • a digital media presentation of about 10 minutes duration – grant of up to $5,000.
